American Horror Story
Lady Gaga as the Countess on "American Horror Story: Hotel." (Suzanne Tenner/FX)

‘American Horror Story’ and more: TV Q&A

“American Horror Story: Hotel” has debuted and it’s bonkers. Lady Gaga stars as The Countess, apparently a vampire who lives in a Deco-style hotel in Los Angeles. The season premiere was bathed in nudity and blood, which I guess is to be expected.

I gave Bill Leff and Wendy Snyder the rundown on their WGN-Radio show Oct. 9.

Other cast members from Ryan Murphy’s anthology series include Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Evan Peters and Finn Wittrock. Here’s a rundown of the new “AHS: Hotel” characters.

Murphy is co-creator, showrunner, executive producer, writer and director while Brad Falchuk is co-creator, executive producer and writer.

We didn’t get to many questions, but I received an email from a reader, Iris, who asked me if Travel Channel will have new seasons of “Gem Hunt.” Sadly Iris, a rep for Travel Channel says the network did not renew the show.

You can hear me with Bill Leff and Wendy Snyder, usually about 11:05 a.m. Fridays, on WGN Radio-720 AM. If you can’t make it to the radio, I’ll post them on my site. You also can listen to them at the Bill and Wendy page on WGN’s site.
