America’s Got Talent auditions Nov. 12 in Chicago

Chicago will host the first auditions for Season 12 of America’s Got Talent on Nov. 12, the show’s producers announced Wednesday.

The NBC competition series recently crowned 12-year-old singer-songwriter Grace VanderWaal its Season 11 winner. The finale garnered the most votes in the show’s history. Now producers are looking for the best variety acts of any age and any talent.

Interested acts can register now by visiting AGTAuditions.com, where they will also find additional details as well as helpful tips for auditioning. Acts unable to make it to one of the 10 audition cities also have the option to submit an online audition via the same website.

The nationwide talent search kicks off at McCormick Place on Chicago’s Lakefront, then heads to nine other cities listed below.

“There’s no show on television that changes lives and discovers stars the way that ‘America’s Got Talent’ does,” executive producer Sam Donnelly said in a release. “Each year we continue to find new and amazing acts through our open auditions. We’re excited to visit each of these cities to discover the best talent they have to offer.”

VanderWaal, who received judge Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer to advance to the live shows, began writing songs when she was 3 years old.  She won America over with performances of her original songs throughout the competition.

In addition to her $1 million dollar prize for winning, VanderWaal will headline inside the PH Showroom at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Oct. 27-30. Season 11 acts The Clairvoyants and Tape Face will be part of her show. Tickets and further information on these upcoming performances can be found at AGTvegas.com

Simon Cowell, the creator of the worldwide phenomenon Got Talent format, recently renewed his commitment to “America’s Got Talent.” Cowell signed on as a judge for the next three years, extending through 2019.

Cowell, who served as a judge on the series for the first time this past season, will once again be joined by Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel when season 12 launches in summer 2017. Nick Cannon will also return as host.

FremantleMedia North America and Syco Entertainment co-produce “America’s Got Talent.” Additionally, Cowell, Sam Donnelly, Jason Raff, Trish Kinane and Richard Wallace are the executive producers.
