The women of Lallybroch take matters into their own hands in the latest episode of “Outlander.”
“The Search,” airing at 8 p.m. May 9 on Starz, is one big road trip—1743 Scottish style. Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jenny (Laura Donnelly) set off to find Jamie (Sam Heughan), who was captured by the British in last week’s episode.
Speaking of “The Watch,” the group of bandits who enlisted Jamie and Ian (Steven Cree) to join them on a raid apparently weren’t as tough or smart as they thought. The whole thing went south after redcoat deserter Horrocks (Lochlann O Mearain) ratted them out to the British.
Oops, they got ambushed themselves. (Ian got a little pre-retribution against Horrocks, however, when he ran the man through before the group even set off on their mission. He didn’t want the guy blackmailing Jamie or turning him in. Watch the video waay at the bottom of this post for a scene from “The Search.”)
Only Ian and another man made it back to Lallybroch to tell Claire and Jenny that Jamie had been captured.
Claire, of course, isn’t one to sit around and wait for some guy to come to Jamie’s rescue. This week she sets out to save her beloved, begrudgingly accepting help from Jenny, who has bounced back awfully fast after giving birth.
It’ll be 250 years before the Spice Girls make “girl power” a female rallying cry, but Claire and Jenny seem to know the term already.
As you can see in the sneak peek video clip below, Jenny really gets into the female empowerment, not to mention the Guantanamo Bay torture thing.
Listen, no one likes to be called a harlot or a slut.

Claire and Jenny try to coerce a kingsman into giving them information of Jamie’s whereabouts.

As you see, Murtagh Fitzgibbons (Duncan Lacroix) eventually joins the road trip. That’s kind of fun.
